Year 2 Day 56
Spent the day traveling around West Yorkshire on a Day Rider ticket. A group of us went to Keighley to be measured up for wedding suits and took the opportunity to have a bit of a stag do. Train and bus took us to Haworth, Hebden Bridge and Halifax before getting home. The Haworth stop wasn't planned but as the bus pulled in we saw scores of people dressed in soldiers uniforms and 40s clothes only to discover it was the Haworth World War II Weekend! There was music too and I got this shot of the drummer and his boy as they set up.
@azza_l yeah I went over and asked first. A) cos there was a kid and B) cos they were all dressed up so thought it'd be a positive response. There was about 500 people dressed up in WW2 gear, army and civvies and they all seemed to want their photo taken. I put some more on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/rich57/sets/72157626729144534/
Perfect feel to this portrait.
