This strange construction was erected in the Burg, one of the beautiful Bruges squares by a Japanese artist as part of the Bruges: 2002 European City of Culture event. The locals hate it and dubbed it the "Car Wash". It was supposed to be taken down at the end of the 12 month Culture period but its still here ten years later...
@fueast it's inside a massive "puddle". It's a bit grubby on the outside but I thought it might have something going for it from the right angle. The kids on bikes loved riding through it and splashing water everywhere.
@fueast been great. Having a beer in the parcel yard KX before the train home. Bruges is just perfect for photo ops. Reckon any 355er would have a ball here.
Maybe the "car wash" will grow on them. The French loathed the Eiffel Tower when that was built, hailing it an ugly monstrosity. And Queen Victoria said, "to those who say the [Tower] bridge will improve the beauty and historical associations of the place all I can say is "Bosh!".
