Went out to a gig last night, not the sort of thing I do very often but The Decemberists are one of my all time favourite bands and it had been an ambition of mine to see them for nearlly ten years. Luckily I wasn't disappointed as it was great.
@crappysailor Colin Meloy has been described as the Portland Morrissey in the past, mainly down to his lyrical style. and the new album is called "the king is dead" so I think there's a bit of reverance going on.
great shot. i've been loving the new cd. i hope i get a chance to see them sometime. glad to hear they lived up to your expectations. so far, i'm lined up to see The Hold Steady in 2 weeks and The Black Keys in July. Hopefully, I'll mix a few more shows in there.
@rich57 Not sure what you're talking about as only heard one LP - that was Picaresque. Just looked up title, its 'For my own true love (lost at sea)'. I still have it on my ipod and try not to sing along because I sound like a cat.
@rich57 Sorry, yeah, meant song, not LP! Lol. A friend from the states sent it to me about 5 years ago, but that one song was the stand out one. Superb voice :-)
