Flower or seed?

These flowers/seeds are every where but I don't know what they are called. I was nearly lying on the ground to take this.

We call them soldiers, but not sure of the correct name. Very nice capture.

Worth the relaxing viewpoint :-). Nice sharp focus and blurred background, it makes the detail really stand out. I have seen them all in the grass and have no idea what they are. Thanks Sheila G, I will at least know what to call the, from now on :-)
