Butterfly in the Orange Tree

Couldn't believe this swallowtail actually landed long enough for me to run and get the camera. This is shot from inside my house, through the window. Wait until you see the next post that I had from the house.
What a beauty! Excellent shot.

@fntngrma Thanks Rosan. This one just had the one bit of the tail point missing, but otherwise, it seemed to be all in tact.

This is really beautiful! He spread those wings so nicely - hard to believe this was from inside the house. Way to go!

If you have citrus trees in your yard, you should see them regularly. Citrus trees are host plants for Giant Swallowtails - and they will lay eggs on the tips of the youngest leaves. You will have lots of caterpillars, and if you don't mind them chewing up your trees, don't use pesticides on them... and you will have lots of lovely butterflies. The caterpillars are really cool looking too. Butterfly gardening makes for great photo subjects, and you help pollinators! Great shot! Fav! :)
