Literally in this case. I spent the day getting rather sun burnt at Duxford. It's their Flying legends weekend but I like to go on the practice day as it's less busy. I had hoped to catch this rather unique DC6 operated by the Flying Bulls in Austria. It was nowhere to be seen when we arrived and I had more or less given up hope by 5:00 pm that we would see it. Then just as we were about to leave my wife spotted a large plane in the distance and sure enough there it was. This is only cropped in letter box format no side to side crop.
The first plane ride I ever had was in a DC6. Hhmmm . . . . it was either a DC6 or a Vickers Viscount. They were both in service here in Oz at the time.
It was rather a warm weekend for this wasn't it?! We went to the evening display at the Shuttleworth collection on the Sunday evening. Beautiful display and less crammed than Duxford can get. I posted a couple of pictures a few days ago. The Spitfire always seem to be the favourite :-)
