I went to Sywell aerodrome in Northamptonshire for a birthday treat. It had been quite relaxing until a major fire broke out in a near by building. This has been on the national news and was quite scary to watch but I believe fortunately no one was injured.
Wow .. pleased to hear there was no injuries.. fire is a scary thing ... saw a similar site going down the motorway the other day .. car caught on fire..
I was in Rushden Lakes and saw the huge plume of smoke. We drove home to Wellingborough and as we got nearer it looked so scary. Saw it on the news and realised it was literally just round the corner from where I live - 5 minutes drive. Hope your day wasn’t completely spoilt! We have all our doors and windows closed!
@pamknowler the smoke looked very black so I can't imagine it's very healthy. We could still see it towering in the sky when we were nearly at Stamford. I was just packing up any way but was amazing the amount of people that arrived just to watch!
