Crab Grass I Can Handle

Snapping Turtles on the front lawn is another matter all together!
Holy moly! She (?) looks like a big one! Was it looking for a place to lay eggs?

Good grief - too bad you didn't shoot a picture of your finger near it to give us some perspective on size!! Just kidding - wouldn't want you to get hurt!

You have more wildlife in Maine than you had in Florida. Great capture love the detail on the shell.

I was feeling brave enough getting on my belly in the grass. I tried to get a neighbor to hold it by the tail while I took pictures, but no takers. Looking for a place to lay eggs? Likely. Actually she was a bit on the small side; maybe 14" front to rear of shell. I think I posted one on my flickr account last year that about 2 1/2 times that size. That one really made me nervous. (p.s. Next time I'll give you a call Lyn, and we can use your finger! LOL

Mean is the word. I just pray they stay away from loons and stick to fish!
Thanks for dropping in.

Tara, Small as snappers go. About 12 to 14" shell to shell. Still formidable.
