Thanks, All. Does look like the classic wing drying pose, but actually I almost missed seeing it because wings were folded and the profile wasn't much broader t han the branch it was sitting on. That's actually a "should I fly, or should I not" pose!

Excellent capture. We get cormorants, but no anhingas here on Cape Cod. He's very beautiful.
