Had the first class in my darkroom course this week. We learnt how to hand develop B&W film. Unfortunately there was some kind of chemical issue because as you can see the negative came out totally blank! I have no idea what the deal is but the chemicals were super old so hopefully if we mix up a new batch it won't do that.
Next week we're doing traditional darkroom wet printing. Really looking forward to that!
@dsp2@bkbinthecity i had a lot of fun in the class despite the result. I highly recommending taking a detour and giving film a try with a cheap SLR.
It is a lot less forgiving than digital, you really have to think about your settings because there is no instant feedback. Going back to shooting digital almost feels like cheating!
