These are scented Narcissus. They are growing in a hurricane lamp with pebbles in the base, and the bulbs are balanced on the pebbles, then enough water is put in so that the bulbs don't touch the water. As you can see, the roots are beginning to seek the water out and the plants are growing.
I discovered this way of growing after chatting to an assistant at our local Garden Centre.
