Saguaro Cactus

The top of this huge cactus, symbol of the America Southwest. It lives in the Sonoran Desert, which encompasses part of southern Arizona, plus Mexico and Southern California. You won't see them elsewhere. :) If you are interested, read more at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saguaro

These huge cactus are like a natural hotel... birds sit on them, bugs burrow into them. They grow upwards of 75 feet... they don't start growing "arms" until they are at least 50 years old. Thanks for visiting the "nerd" cactus site.

@888rachel @ceilidh Thanks! These guys are just huge... they dot the landscape like dandelions. Birds site on them frequently and they never seem to put a foot wrong.
