Still working through some Washington DC photos. Here is a stairwell in the Capitol Building, heading up towards higher floors. The architectural details in this staircase were historic and lovely.

So different than looking down - much less detail to hold the eye glued to the image. Did you try this one in B&W? With the right amount of contrast, I think it can make a very strong structural image.
