My talented and creative daughter has a green thumb. My thumb, of course, is black. ;). She grew this basil and was picking some this afternoon. The fruits of her labor.

@888rachel Not quite enough for that recipe... maybe stacked on mozzarella cheese and tomatoes? I am delighted that she scolds me for buying parsley at the store, because she is growing it out back. :)
My favourite herb. I can smell it. And your shot reminds me of my 93 year old neighbour yesterday holding out to me a handful of dried poppy seed pods gathered last year. (I had admired the current ones in his garden, double and a beautiful pink).
I am a fellow black thumber who has a green fingered daughter! My eye is first drawn to the lush green of the basil and then it is drawn to her fingers and nails, I love the dirt under her thumb nail and un-manicured nails it makes for great authenticity. Fav for me!
