My mother-in-law's chandelier, tagged for her upcoming estate sale. Many a family dinner was served under this lovely light. :)
We are moving my mother-in-law into a retirement facility this month. Getting ready for the upcoming estate sale, held as part of selling her house. As you might imagine, this is a complex emotional time, as well as a very busy time, for our family. She is being a very good egg about it, but it has to be hard for her.
Anyway, sorry to be such a lame 365er right now. I appreciate any visits, as they are a gift of time.

I think we all have times where our lives have to come first. As you said it is a very busy time for your family and your attention is needed elsewhere. I have recently gone through a time when I couldn't devote as much time as I would like so I understand. Hope all goes well with the sale and the transition. Lovely picture with lovely memories.
I had to move my mom into a retirement facility, and then to a nursing home. Getting old means painfully loosing pieces of yourself one move at a time. Your photo leaves me in tears.
Crystals like this always remind me of the old movie "Pollyanna," when Hailey Mills admired the rainbow prisms that appeared on the wall. It was symbolic for her tendency to always see something beautiful in everything. Though fictional, I think she would just hope that this beautiful chandelier goes to someone who will cherish it as much as your family did because it blesses them just as much.
This really is an interesting capture for its contrast between beautiful object and hope for a new home. The positive spin would be thinking of all the new family dinners it will illuminate, yet I know this is hard for her and for you. Take care.
Yes, this transition must be emotional for all of you, but most of all for your mother in law. Glad she's handling it well and that you're taking a few moments to remember special moments.
Beautiful shot of the crystals. So sad to be selling it. We aren't quite to that point with my in-laws, but I don't think it will be much longer before we are forced to do the same. Praying she likes the retirement center.
The b&w really brings out the charcter of the crystals.
I think that some difficult times are harder for loved ones than for the person directly affected. I hope everything goes as smoothly and as painlessly as possible and that your mother-in-law will be happy in her new home.
