Tree of Light by rosiekerr

Tree of Light

We went out to see some holiday lights [Our Lady of the Snows, Southern Illinois, for anyone local]. I liked the bravery of this lone tree of lights, standing alone in the dark. It seemed as though Charlie Brown would pick it out for the school play. :)

Enjoy time with family and friends, if you are lucky enough to have either. Thanks for visiting. As always, very much appreciated.
Ah, you made it to see the lights. Hope you enjoyed it and didn't have to wait as long as we did. :). This tree seems to say "stand strong in your own shadow." I like it.

I think b&w works well in this - adds to the loneliness of the tree.

Nice, simple tree. Yes, appreciate friends and family. Buried a friend today.

@ishutter We did enjoy it... the place was close to vacant, due to all the rain. No waiting. :) I think I drove by your "over-decorated" house tonight - down near Ted Drewes? Nothing says "holiday," like Ted's frozen custard.

@danette Oh, Danette... I am so sorry. You didn't say anything on your current posting, so I didn't want to leave my condolences there. A tough season (if there is a good season??), to lose a friend. Prayers for you.

@rosiekerr Thanks, Rosie. Still coming to grips with it. She died Christmas Eve and I didn't even know she was sick! :-( Friends are important. Merry Post Christmas!

I realize this is the same place that Kim posted a couple of shots from--worth the trip for sure!

I enjoy looking at this shot Rosie, it's sorta cheerful and sorta pensive in b&w. Very intriguing.
