One more horse picture, sorry. Inspired by some of the really great composite pictures here on this site, I took a nice horse with a "ho-hum" background and produced this result.
I was pleased that I didn't have to consult some fast-talking teenager on YouTube for a refresher on layers and composites.
Thanks for being patient with my over-load of Southwestern landscapes and horses recently. I am certainly not seeing anything half as interesting these days, that's for sure.

Okay I'm confused. Can you say a little about how you achieved this Rosie? To me it looks like more of a textured background than a composite. Am I missing something?!
@pistache The original photo was a horse in a show ring, with lots of people behind him in the stands (yuk). I cut the horse out, put him onto a separate layer, put a gradient layer behind, put a separate texture layer behind on top of the gradient layer (but behind the horse), fooled around with opacity/blending options, changed some of the lightness/darkness of the texture with a curves layer, saved it to LR, etc. Since it is an image made of several layers and textures, I called it a "composite." Did this help?
