Lincoln Memorial at Night by rosiekerr

Lincoln Memorial at Night

I am in Washington, D.C., for the next week or so. Here is the Lincoln Memorial, as seen in the reflecting pool, on the National Mall.

As the vote tallies roll in, this is a reminder, I guess, to focus on the long view of history.

Thanks, as always, for visiting.
I'm struggling to remember!

They must have finally opened the other end of the reflecting pool? Haven't been able to get this center view in a couple of years. You might be able to get an awesome super moon pic Sunday-Monday if you're still visiting. Wish I understood the TPE app:-(

Beautiful shot. Thoughtful words from you, hoped this would not happen, but felt it would. But as they say, life goes on !

Lovely view!

Yes, many of us are shocked on both sides of the globe. We're going to have to take the long term view and trust in there being more good people out there than there are greedy, lying ones.

Great image, by the way, faved.

Beautiful shot Rosie, perfect pov. As for the election, it's had huge coverage here, our pollies are taking cover and we're all building bunkers now.

@darylo You and me both.

@golftragic it's all very distressing & a bitter pill, but the counting is done and we shall move forward.

@rosiekerr Not a great deal of option is there? Our papers are full of doom and gloom, Trump's questionable character was one of the few things our two major parties agreed about.
November 10th, 2016
@golftragic my poor daughters. I live in GA. Our HS has teachers who are inappropriate in their comments and open support for the candidate who won. The stories that they told me today tell me that our country will likely not heal any time soon. And we mive on.

Wow, spectacular POV and composition.
November 10th, 2016
@darylo It's all very sad. Whatever happened to the land of the free, equality and democracy?
November 10th, 2016
@golftragic apparently it's that for only a few. We have returned to 1840.
