During my recent visit to South Bend, IN, I toured a historic house which was maintained as it was while the family lived there. It was built in 1895-96, by a Scottish immigrant family who made it big in the plow industry during the Industrial Revolution. It is fully furnished, as it was when the family lived there. I love a good architecture tour. :)

Now thats very special - curved glass in those days! There is one house here in my town that isn't new and one window is curved glass - looks so good! Art deco style.
Like Marnie, I can see the grand parade of ladies in huge skirts and men in their suits, walking the grounds, sipping drinks. Very elegant architecture even if it's glory days are passed. How wonderful that it's maintained.
