@shepherdmanswife PS - if you try to work through this, please know that there are several ways to cut out the selected parts of the lantern. The author uses the pen tool. I am not skilled with that choice, so I used the quick selection tool and edited the masking. Good luck!
@shepherdmanswife Oh, another thought... I did another composite the day before I did this moon lantern. It is a woman walking through a castle door. That tutorial only has 2 photos and doesn't require that you cut anything out. There is a link on that page, too. Also, if you don't understand an instruction, it can help to look for tips regarding that task on YouTube. There are a ton of videos on how to make selections cleanly. Have fun!!
