Bateleur Eagle by rosiekerr

Bateleur Eagle

Boise has a Center for Birds of Prey. They do conservation and breeding work for threatened species.

Here is a Bateleur Eagle (local to the savanna's and open woodlands of Africa). Apparently, this bird's facial feathers can change color, depending on mood.

Honestly, this shot was a bugger - very dark environment, with a moving bird, to boot. The lovely blues on the side are his bars.
Wow, how cool. Have you been to the World Bird Sanctuary outside St. Louis? It's by Lone Elk Park. It has a lot of birds of prey as well.
