Washington International Horse Show

Here is an amazing equine athlete and his rider, clearing one of many 160 cm (5'4") fences in his round of the Washington DC International Horse Show.

I picked this one, because (I hope) it shows the amount of effort needed to clear just one of these obstacles.

They only have 61 seconds to complete the round, before there is a time penalty. Each fence is this high - many are double width.

It was so much fun to witness.
Fantastic timing and clarity, Rosie! Fav!

Amazing stuff, horse and rider both. I have a shot of one of my granddaughters in exactly the same pose going a jump like that. Better her than me!!!! You did a fabulous job capturing this shot so clearly, love the expression on the rider's face urging the horse onwards.

Fabulous capture. I rode and entered jumping competitions many moons ago. Brings back memories. I was braver then. :)
