A (Better) Angel by rosiekerr

A (Better) Angel

My mom passed away about a week or so ago, after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease.

We cleaned out her room recently and found this.

On its own, it is only meaningful to our family. However, I am transfixed (a gentle term) by the difficult events in our nation's capital today, and this personal trinket took on a new meaning.

“We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.”

-- Abraham Lincoln

Thank you for visiting.
The loss of your mother is a passing of a relationship that I hope will live on in your heart and memory. Meanwhile her angel will watch over you, your family -- and all of us who see it on 365. It's shocking what's happening in DC. We need angels.

My condolences on your loss. I found the clearing out to be one of the most difficult things to do. But I'm sure the little angel will bring back happy memories.

So sad to read about your mother Rosie my heart breaks for you especially the awful task you have of sorting her room out. How lovely to find the angel which will always be a treasure for you. We all need angels looking over us especially in these difficult scary times. Big hug xx

Yes ABRAHAM! Oh Kris, I’m so sorry re your mother. It is such a powerful and primitive loss. And to have it followed by the loss of our country ouch

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. My father passed in August and it's been a bit of a bear to deal with it all during these times. I love the angel, the quotation, and I wanted to come visit your page to see if you're still here (I'm just returning for another 365 if I can do it). There is so much loss these days. We must hold on to one another so we can see the future gains. xoxo D.
