Sunlight through trees by rosiekind

Sunlight through trees

I took this pointing my camera directly at the sun and was not sure whether this was the best way to capture the sunlight through the trees but it kind of worked
There are different ways to take this & all are right. You have got the bright sunlight which in some circumstances can burn out the centre of the picture.
Another way to try is to point the camera at a darker bit of tree, keep the shutter half way down & then move the camera back to frame how you wanted, but the only thing to do is try lots of different ways till you like what you get.
You could also try moving to get the sun right behind the trunk!
It is all trial & error & that is all any of us can do!
Go for it & enjoy taking the pictures :-)

I have a new compact camera & am learning how to get some good pictures out of it. I know there are many different ways to do it & I am finding the comments people make to me so useful.

Wonderful Capture! I too, need tips when taking this type of shot. I like how the pic has the silhouette of trees and light. Thanks Mark for those tips, too! Nice work, Rosie.
