Sparrow

We don't get many sparrows in our garden so I was pleased to see this little fellow (actually I think it might be a female) and he/she was sitting in the laurel bush. There were a couple of them so hopefully they might start breeding and increase the numbers again as sparrows in UK have very much diminished over the past few years, having been one of our most common birds.
Lovely capture!!Unfortunately I think my cat doesn't help the sparrow population!!My neighbour's hedge is a haven for them,so she sits and waits there!!

A really lovely capture, now you mention it the sparrows do seem to be thin on the ground.

You are doing well with your bird portraits; they're great! H-sparrows.....we used to feed them in St.James' park years ago but I gather they are not there now - plenty round here!
