Robin by the river by rosiekind

Robin by the river

After I had uploaded yesterday's picture of the coal tit, I went for a walk down the cycle track in the village (which used to where the old railway line was before Mr Beeching closed it) which is near to the river Great Ouse. I saw this little fellow sitting amongst the branches and couldn't resist. I just love robins and did get some nice pictures of mallards as well. I might cheat and post some other photos I took yesterday as I was quite pleased with them. It was so quiet with only the birds singing for company and I really enjoyed my walk. I can see the attraction of having a dog to walk each day apart from when it's raining and there's muddy paws. Now that the weather should be cheering up, I must go walking more often
A pretty robin portrait; you are getting close to them, which does not always happen if you have a dog!

Yes - it's a shame we can't have dogs just for nice days! Lovely robin shot and Mark is right - not so easy with a dog!
