I went to visit the Vicar in Elstow today and I had never driven up the little road called Church End. Moot Hall is on the right and the grass had just been cut so I couldn't resist a picture. One day I shall have to go and have a look inside as it's only about 6 miles from where I live. It is only open at certain times between April and October (1-4pm on Saturdays or by arrangement). It is a 15th century building.
The Moot Hall was originally built to serve Elstow Abbey as a market house but is now a museum. It contains beautiful period furniture and has exhibits illustrating the life and traditions of 17th century England.
@caddick lol you are probably right! It was really pretty all around there up by the church @busylady I think it is just a museum piece now. I'm going to google it to find out more
