I can't remember what the man told me this duck is called but he said that it is a rare duck that has come over from Scandinavia. There was only one on the lake at Priory but there were a couple of avid birdwatchers and photographers taking pics of it so I joined in! I think the name starts with F Fru something or other and I've googled it but can't find it so it must be rare! It certainly wasn't on RSPB website! Not a particularly good pic as the light was not very good so I had 1600 ISO and shot at 1/320 shutter speed on a manual setting. I think that there is some noise on it but at least I got a rare bird! Perhaps Mike could tell us what it is??!! Lend us your "expertise" please.
@aristide Sorry but it's not that one. It's a Ferruginous Duck which I had not heard of before but Carol has come up with the name and the other man with the camera told me this but I couldn't remember such a funny name!
