It's been a cold grey day today and Steve was surprised that I wanted to go out for a walk. However, I'm glad I did because on my travels over to Dovecote Lake, I saw a bird fly into the grass. I didn't know what it was until I zoomed in and lo and behold - it was a green woodpecker. I was so pleased. It was hard to get a good look at him because he was hiding in the grass and thought I couldn't see him because I was a long way away. I've just cropped this a bit and although I got some better ones of him when he flew into a tree, I liked this one best. I will probably post one of him in the tree tomorrow
