Sorry to anyone who viewed the other picture of the sparrow hawk but when I looked at it, I didn't think it was as sharp as this one so I have replaced it. Anyway, after I had photographed the little wren this sparrow hawk came down and stole a goldfinch which I was just about to capture on the feeder. I know that it's nature but the birds take so much trouble to bring up their young, that it seems such a pity that they are whisked away in the blink of an eye! A jay came in the garden and stole a bird the other day but I didn't have my camera to hand. Poor little birds! We have these snatching the collared doves, it took one the other day and now we have one sitting all alone. Still that's life. You have captured this bird perfectly
