I couldn't believe how many times I saw herons at Priory - first on a blue buoy with the number 2 on it and then on a buoy with number 4 on it. After I had walked round the lake to look for the reed warblers (but didn't see any - only heard them) I walked back to the car and there standing on the dipping platform was this heron. I managed to get really close to him. I took some pics of him with the sign saying "No fishing" but they weren't as good as this one. I just liked his pose.
It has been my first day back at work after my holiday and I've had loads to do including loads of problems to sort out for people. My diary is now full for the rest of the week! However I'm still glad to be back as I really do love my job.
