Raiding the log basket

This was taken last night because I lit a fire as it was so cold! Bas always likes to come out for a play about 8 or 9pm and he just loves the sound of splintering wood! The logs had gone down because he didn't come out until about 10pm. I think he must have been tired because he doesn't usually leave it so late so consequently the logs had been burning away and there weren't many left in the basket. It didn't stop him from throwing them out though. He has such a strong beak to be able to lift a log and throw it. He's now sitting on his perch having a bit of a sleep (12.30 hrs) because I've cleaned his cage out which means that he has been busy customizing it to how he likes it - i.e. tearing up paper and cardboard to throw about and scratch like an old chicken! I have to clean up twice. Once he's finished scratching I scoop up the mess once more. You can't be house proud if you have a cockatoo!

I'm uploading him now because it has rained all morning and I might not get any other pics today
How funny!! That's an interesting pet to have Rosie. He is wonderful and must be funny when he throws logs out of the basket!! Lovely shot!! It's raining here too and it felt quite cold when I was out with Finlay!! Brrrr!!

@beryl He's the most friendliest bird you ever met and he never pecks. He's 100% childproof! He loves being with humans and I think he thinks he is human as he sits down to breakfast with us every morning!

@rosiekind How lovely ( I didn't mean to offend ) knowing that I would trust his powerful looking beak . !!

@beryl No offence taken Beryl. He is so careful that he picks sleep out of Steve's eyes with that big beak but he can be very careful with it. People wouldn't believe that we let him near our eyes but he's absolutely trustworthy and will sit on my little grandson's shoulder without any problems. I wouldn't let him near Dylan if I didn't trust him. He really is a little sweetie and a real softie!

Great shot and interesting story and I think Bas is as much of a one-off as Jinks! (Just heard a noise and it's Jinks on the bed behind me snoring away!)
