I had a couple of apples that were past their best so cut them in half and threw them out for the blackbirds. They just love them and soon pecked their way through the flesh. It's amazing how many different things the birds like to eat.
I found though that a naughty mouse had been eating the bird food stored in the cupboard under the stairs so we put a trap down and lo and behold when we checked this morning, the trap had moved. However, we found it in the cupboard with a little mouse still attached but it wasn't dead so we let him out in the garden and told him not to come back inside the house. I hope he doesn't because I don't really like killing them but I've got to protect the bird food somehow and they've got plenty to be going on with outside.
Oh poor mouse, but they cannot be hanging out in our houses! I hope he learned his lesson. This bird is healthy and trying to keep "the doctor" away. Yay!
Nice shot! I had a similar problem with mice getting into my bird seed. I now use a small metal trash barrel with a tight fitting lid to hold the seed. Keeps the mice out and keeps the seed fresh.
congrats on the TWO shots of yours on the PP. Well done. You can get mouse traps that are
friendly
that means the mouse gets trapped in the little gray box and you take it over to the other end of town and let it go. Hopefully it doesn't have a GPS so it can't find your house again!!!
