Corn bunting by rosiekind

Corn bunting

Talk about the one that got away (no I'm not a fisherman!) but I missed the chance of a green woodpecker in flight but he whizzed across the trees so fast, I didn't get a chance to focus on him so I've posted this corn bunting who is not half as pretty but I've not had a lot of luck or time today!

It is so hot and sticky and I found it very tiring walking the short distance up Wood Lane (where this was taken) because I had walked to the Garden Centre to buy my grandson who lives in Norfolk a birthday card and back home to address it. Then I walked up to the Post Office to buy some stamps - why is it you never have a stamp when you need one? By the time I then walked up Wood Lane I was flagging!

It is becoming very autumnal now with all the berries ripening and this bird seems to be looking at the elderberries but I don't think they are properly ripe yet.

Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs and sorry I don't have time to reply to everyone and don't always have time to comment on your pics although I do try to look at them. Not enough hours in the day!
Lovely shot Rosie. I agree about the weather. I went to the allotment this afternoon but could only manage half an hour before I had to give up!

Sounds like an exhausting day! Don't think I've seen a Corn bunting around here before, a sweet little bird.
