This little chiff chaff was trying to hide behind the leaves in our silver birch tree this morning before I went to work. I was alerted by it's call as I wasn't sure what it was until I uploaded it tonight.
Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
Lovely shot Rosie, great find. Just one thing, I don't think it is a Garden Warbler, they are summer visitors and should have all left for warmer climates. I think what you have photographed is a Chiffchaff, which have now started to over winter, in ever greater numbers. Chiffchaffs have that pale supercilium ( the stripe above the eye) as well as Garden Warblers. Hope this is of help.
Ooh he's a sweetheart whatever he is - pretty sure I don't have garden warblers or chuff gaffs in my garden but then I post anything with a stripey eye thing under 'wren'!
@markp I had completely forgotten about chiff chaffs and it's the first time I've seen one in the garden. Thanks for letting me know because I shall now rename it!
