Mrs Woodpecker

I've been up to the RSPB in Sandy this afternoon and I didn't have long as it gets dark so early now. I didn't really see any birds that I don't see at home but it is nice to get woodpecker shots on this old tree stump rather than on a feeder. There are feeders hanging below it although you can get photos without them. I was pleased that it brightened up this afternoon after a drizzly damp morning.

Oh, I so envy you seeing woodpeckers! We have one somewhere near but we only ever hear him.
Lovely close-ups, Rosie, you've made a great triptych with them. The dof is great and the colours in the bokeh highlight the bird beautifully.
