As soon as I had taken this shot through the kitchen window Mr Great Tit flew off with the nut in his beak. I got more than I bargained for when I went to the Optician's yesterday as he said that I've got the beginnings of a cataract in my left eye which is the eye I have my reading lens in so I may delve into have lens replacements earlier rather than later. Funnily though I hate the thought of having someone poking round in my eyes and I would like to know the failure rate before I succumb as, to me, it would be disastrous if I couldn't take photographs!
I hope everyone is having a good weekend and the rain that we were not forecast to be having this morning hasn't spoilt it too much. Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
Nice shot! I had cataract surgery in both of my eyes about 15 years ago. I had very poor vision before I got the cataracts, so I could hardly see. The surgery removed the lenses in my eyes and replaced them with plastic lenses that were corrected to my eyes. I have had close to 20/20 vision every since. (Not close up, still need reading glasses.) That surgery was a miracle for me. Hope all goes well for you.
P.S. About your cataract, for what it's worth, they don't always grow. I was diagnosed with the beginnings of one over ten years ago, and every time I go back to get my eyes checked I'm told it hasn't gotten any bigger.
I hope the cataract doesn't cause too much trouble and is easy to treat.
