I hadn't seen any goldfinches for ages so when I saw this little fellow, I hoped he would stay on the branch long enough for me to get a shot and he did!
We have just come back from Bedford after the usual sitting in coffee bars watching the world go round. I've just put a match to the fire and it's blazing nicely so all I have to do now is get the dinner! Then we are off to a pub for some rock music but I've got to decide which one we are going to so I shall have to google the bands that are playing because I don't know any of them. I think the pubs give new bands a chance after new year as the pubs are not so busy and they don't want to pay out for a band who may not be up to the usual standard. I hope everyone is having a great weekend and thank you all for your kind comments and Favs and for viewing my images.
A beautiful bird. This reminds me of a story many many years ago when we were first married and we lived in the UK. We saw a goldfinch in our garden. We had just taken over the house and the garden was a bit of a wilderness. We looked up the bird in our newly acquired bird book and it said they live in weedy waste places, ha ha. It certainly felt at home in our garden.
Sounds like a good night awaits.
