A shot from yesterday. This male great spotted woodpecker visited to fill his tum. They don't seem too frightened of me pointing my camera through the (dirty) kitchen window and they are only a few feet away.
I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. It is very cold here with the wind chill factor making it feel more like -6.
My bird box complete with wireless camera arrived on Friday so I shall have to get Steve to set it up for me quite quickly as the sparrows have been looking at the box on one of our silver birch trees. I have seen the odd sparrow in the garden lately which is nice as they are becoming quite rare up this end of the village. It would be nice if they were to nest here. We had great tits nesting in that particular box last year and it is one my late father made many years ago.
