Mr Blackbird decided to perch in the silver birch tree and peer at me through the window. I was going to go for a walk along Wood Lane and I started out but the wind was so cold and the sky seemed to be clouding over and I thought I was going to get caught in the rain again so I turned back. I really don't need to leave my kitchen as there are so many birds and of course the cheeky squirrels so I've got it all in front of me. However, I didn't walk off my dinner from yesterday. We had a lovely afternoon and evening with my daughter and her family - roast chicken (because she knows that's my favourite), roast potatoes, carrots, sprouts, leeks, cauliflower cheese and stuffing followed by a chocolate and almond cake with Amaretto! It was homemade and delicious and I even got some to bring home so we shall be able to have some for pudding tonight. She also got me a really nice gift pack of Lancome Tresor goodies (another favourite of mine). She certainly spoils me.
Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
Was it your birthday Rosie or just a generous daughter? That pudding sounds just up my street....chocolate with almonds! How black is your blackbird...so happy to see lots of these birds around our table this year.
Sounds like you had a wonderful meal yesterday. Enjoy your second helping of pud.
