Where flowers and veg collide

This was a quick shot before I went to Addenbrookes to see the Eye Surgeon today. To cut a long story short, I need an operation to repair the hole in my macular and it will take place in about 3 months time as I am now on the waiting list. A downside will be that I probably won't be able to use contact lenses for reading and close work but at the moment I can't do that anyway so it shouldn't make too much difference except i hate having to keep getting glasses out!

Leading up to the small vegetable patch is a small bed of flowers including these lovely lupins that I had to spray with bug clear to get rid of the white fly and I don't like doing that because I don't want the birds to get contaminated but I had to resort to it because they weren't doing the job properly. It has proved to be the right thing today as they look lovely and this one plant has 17 flower spikes on it.

Thanks for getting both my blue tit and goldfinches on PP yesterday - it is very much appreciated.
Lovely patch in your garden Rosie.
Hope all goes well with your eye operation.

Beautiful - your garden looks wonderful. The slugs ate all our lupine so it's nice to see yours and they look amazing. Good to see flowers in the context of the garden too. Fav

What beautiful lupins!! I have never been successful growing lupins as they always seem to get covered in black fly.
What a shame you have to wait for the eye operation. You will be used to wearing glasses by then!! Fav for your lovely shot!!
