Preparing for their long journey to Africa

I thought I would take a walk along Wood Lane this morning as I haven't been along there much lately. I'm glad I did because I saw lots of lovely animals and birds. These swallows are getting ready to leave for their long flight to Africa and for a change, they settled on the telegraph wire above my head. At one stage there were 4 of them and I think they were probably 2 pairs of birds. I just liked this shot with the feathers and tail splayed out.

Thank you for your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
What a lovely shot with the beautiful blue behind them. Fav

Wonderful -- such a beautiful little bird and so brave to follow their instinct back to Africa before ourwinter closes in on them !

Super capture. Some have already made the journey south - our resident swallow seems to be back on his usual perch!
