This blackbird was looking for something to eat around my rockery in the back garden. When I looked more closely, he looks as though he's examining the daffodils which are now starting to poke through.
Thank you so much for your comments and Favs on yesterday's splash shots - I was stunned to get so many Favs although a lot of the praise should go to Sarah @pixiemac as without her help, I wouldn't have managed any of it!
Interesting reaction to this (please don't read as critique -- just interesting in terms of light and dark). I kept focusing on the white thing and thought it was an animal looking at daffodils and then suddenly, the blackbird popped and I saw it. I think it just means my eye was drawn to the lightest part of the image first -- interesting phenomenon!
@taffy A camera club judge would have given this a very low mark for that very reason and you are absolutely right. I must confess I only looked at this very quickly and sometimes when you have taken a photo you know what drew you to a scene but you can't expect everybody to realise. Thanks for your comment because it has woken me up to ensure that I don't make a similar mistake when entering club competitions.
