I've spent most of the day down the brook today because it's going to rain tomorrow and I wanted to make the most of it. I wasn't disappointed when I spotted this juvenile kingfisher who must have fledged today! He's a young one as he has black legs and a white tip on his beak. Most of my photos this morning are of him and it looks as though he needs to learn to fish very quickly as his parents will shoo him away after 4 days to find his own territory. The adults are still taking fish to his siblings so I am presuming that he is probably the biggest and strongest.
Kingfishers have about 6 eggs so it will be interesting to see whether any more appear in the4 next few days (weather permitting).
I will post a pic of his Dad in my Bits & Bobs album and thank you for getting yesterday's kingfisher on PP and for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
