This is a filler as this morning I spent my time raking up leaves in the garden. I wanted to gather as many as I could before the rain came. After a quick lunch I went off to the next village as a reunion of nurses had been arranged and it was brilliant. I met up with girls I trained with in 1983. There were some of the nursing officers who we either loved or feared! I told the sister of my first medical ward that she had been a great role model as she used to roll her sleeves up and bath the patients just the same as the rest of us and, like her, I carried out care of my patients when I became a ward sister. I remember running down the corridor with the Consultant’s pipes because he had left it behind in the office. I couldn’t imagine that happening today! We did have some laughs
