Brave little long tailed tit by rosiekind

Brave little long tailed tit

i had to be proud of this little long tailed tit who wasn't perturbed by seeing Woodie on the suet balls. He is a brave little bird.

Last night I had rather less sleep than I would have liked especially as I had gone to bed a bit earlier to try to catch up after the previous night's antics with the police helicopter waking me up at 3am! I was reading my kindle when I heard voices outside so I switched the light off and peeped out of the bedroom curtains. I saw 2 cars parked outside facing each other and the black car had headlights on. This was at 11.19pm and the two cars were still there at 12.15 so I rang 101 in view of the previous night. The Police told me that as it was a Friday night they were very busy and didn't think they would have the resources to send someone out. No doubt they were busy in the nearby town with drunken idiots knifing each other! I was rather annoyed as I suspect the drug dealing has moved from Wood Lane to outside our house! The cars didn't move off until 12.47 and I can't help wondering what they were doing there for so long. I live in a peaceful village and don't want this kind of thing on my doorstep. Our local Police Crime Commissioner has already begged the Government to put more resources into our overstretched county as we don't get the funds we need. Luton Airport is in our county and we have already had terrorists from Luton caught and put in prison yet the Government fail to listen! Well I shall be writing to our local MP, the Prime Minister, the Home Secretary, the Crime Commissioner and whoever will listen! It's about time something was done about rural crime and not just dealing with the issues in our towns. Rant over

Thanks for getting yesterday's images on PP and for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
Sweet capture, Rosie. Interesting story, too. It does sound scary and it's a shame the police couldn't come there to check it out.

@mittens They didn't catch the devils the night before when the helicopter went up but they did check our CCTV cameras and get the registrations of the cars involved. Some of us clubbed together to buy the cameras and so far it has paid off as several burglars have been caught

As usual, a wonderful shot of the beautiful birds. Incredible story, I hope the unpleasant issues in your village get sorted out soon :-)

That’s an amazing capture Rosie because it’s so unusual.
I understand your rant and I sympathise. I really hope someone will listen to you. There was a stabbing in sleepy, rural Hereford a few days ago. Sent shock waves throughout the county.

@susiemc I
Great really becoming a terrible world that we live in and I didn’t think we would see this sort of thing in our village
