I couldn't believe it when I looked out of my kitchen window this morning and saw this redwing in my garden. It's amazing how many birds are visiting who haven't been here before. I wonder what I shall see next! The redwing, like the fieldfare, is a member of the thrush family.
The fieldfare has brought his mate with him today and he has been extremely greedy hogging the bird table and shoeing the blackbirds away. In fact he's quite aggressive! He is a new visitor so he should behave himself and not upset my regulars!
It is snowing again and I have had to cancel my appointment at Addenbrookes today as it's 30 miles away and the forecast was not good for this afternoon and I didn't want to get stuck anywhere. It's a shame because I shall probably have to wait ages for another appointment.
Thanks for getting yesterday's fieldfare, pied wagtail and Mrs Blackbird on PP and for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
Lovely capture Rosie pleased to hear your getting lots of visitor sorry about the appointment having to be cancelled, along with one of my neighbours we tried to clear a single track up to the main road today but the winds and snow came so we will have another try tomorrow, we have been snowed in for three days now:)
My twitcher friend told me yesterday to look out for redwings and of course you have beaten me to it!! LOL!! Pretty bird!! What a shame about your appointment but I think it's best as the weather is so awful and so many stories about people being stranded you don't want to chance it!!
