Every spring a pair of mallards visit our garden and I put out duck food and a bowl of water for them. This year, I can't find the bowl but Daisy duck can improvise very well and so she has decided to drink from the low bird bath. What a sensible little girl. She came with Donald yesterday but for some reason she was on her own today. I think she's looking for somewhere safe to nest. She usually nests somewhere nearby but I'm not sure where but once the ducklings are old enough she marches them all the way down the road to the river. I think she had a about 10 following her last year so I hope she will have another bumper year!

Quote Ken, "Nothing cuter than that!"...not about having ducks in the yard (in our case, the pool!) but the baby ducklings! They won't nest in our yard with so many cats around, but I know of once that mama brought all the 7 ducklings to the pool for a swim! Like you, I love to feed and encourage their visit as they're good photo subjects!
