I only intended a quick walk around Priory Country Park on the way back from Bedford but a gentleman with a Nikon camera and a Sigma 150-600 lens stopped to talk to me. He told me that otters had been seen in the lake so I decided to walk around with him. It felt safer than being on my own. Anyway, we didn't see the otters so I had to make do with some pics of gulls. The light was not very good so I had to make do with these.

Rosie, the otters have been on Longholme lake all over Christmas. We saw one very briefly today, but apparently they were putting on quite a display for several hours on Christmas day! Mostly what we saw, like you, today, were diving gulls. Only I didn't even manage a picture of those! Yours looks great with the clear reflection and the water splash.
Lovely capture! Now you know the otters are around who knows what 2019 will bring! Now who was this strange man you went off with? Just because he had a camera! Lol!
