This is a filler as I have been busy in the garden today planting some of the gladioli that are long overdue to be planted.
I took this photo when I was in Kenya and it's a lovely little bird that is much bigger than our kingfishers and not so flighty. I am absolutely disgusted to receive an email from Natural England today to say that I have to liaise with Hide Man so that we are not near the nest together. I was photographing the kingfishers for a year before he came along without any problems and it seems that now, I have to consult him to see whether I can go down there. It's bad enough having to either lie down or stand behind a tree to photograph them and I was going to buy a hide and leave it down there in the hope that someone didn't steal it but now it's just not worth it. I am really really annoyed so I shall just have to see whether I can find another kingfisher nest, not bother to apply for a licence and photograph them without that A hole's knowledge. I am very disillusioned at the moment which is probably why I haven't picked my camera up. Sorry for my rant but I could just sit down and cry and give up altogether.
Anyway, thanks for all your kind comments and Favs and for getting yesterday's photo of my artist friend on PP. It is always much appreciated.
Beautiful shot of this lovely bird. Who the heck is this hide man, does he have political connections? I am sure you could have a chat with him and sort it all out with a positive outcome for both of you. Don't despair Rosie, it is not worth it.
@ludwigsdiana Unfortunately he's a big pal of the Ranger - well he has been over the past year! I have emailed him this morning and as I didn't get a reply, I emailed him again and asked him for his mobile number so that I could text him. He emailed me back at 11 am and said that he was now at home so I could go down the brook but it looks as though it might rain so I'm not sure what to do
